Happy June
Monday, June 16th, 2008“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” – Proverbs 20:7

our very own Dad – we thank God for you!

we had a wonderful lunch together, topped off with an apple pie made by Jennifer and Jaimee

look at all those apples!
We made a “healthy” pie shell, but here is the recipe for the filling (we added fresh lemon zest to the recipe)

How blessed are the children
Who in their fathers see

And find their way to Thee -Johnson
On Saturday, we were blessed to have the help of a friend as we began the process of laying down floors. After living on concrete for nearly 14 years, this is a very exciting event in our home!

Girls Really Living
Tuesday, May 20th, 2008This past Saturday, Jaimee and Jennifer had another blessed afternoon with a special group of girls. This month’s theme was on giving not just your heart to the Lord, but also your soul (mind, will and emotions) and your body. Romans 12:1-2, I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

We learned that our heart is reflected in our dress, words and actions. Afterwards we talked and prayed with each other in small groups.

grateful to the Lord for the sweet blessing of friends!
Lauren, Jennifer and Jaimee
P.S.
the mission statement of our church is “inviting each individual from every background to really live in Christ.” This gave us the inspiration in naming our girls ministry. Are you dying to really live? Click here!
