Over the Weekend

This past weekend, Jennifer and Jaimee had a group of girls come to our home for an afternoon of fellowship, Bible study, and the making of journals! God has given us the desire to reach out to younger girls, encouraging them to love God with all their heart and to really live in Christ. Girls Really Living is the name of the group, and the Lord blessed the first meeting. We shared personal testimonies and Biblical examples of what it looks like to have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The theme was loving the Lord, ...realizing that God is a Jealous God and that He will not share space with anything else in our life. We talked about giving up things that compete with our love for God. The practical application was having a quiet time- a place and time to sit at Jesus’ feet, to learn from Him and of Him, to draw closer to His heart. We are grateful for this new door of opportunity and praise God for all He is doing in our lives through it!

Also this past weekend, John’s Sunday School class went out after church for a special lunch. John has greatly enjoyed teaching this class and appreciates the older generation’s wisdom and insight.
