February blessings

Monday, February 25th, 2008

This month has been full of God’s blessings! Yesterday we celebrated the 71st wedding anniversary of John’s parents. It is such an honor to have them with us, to see them still in love, to hear their stories and see Christ in their lives. We had a happy time celebrating yesterday afternoon.

yeah for 71 years together!
Happy 71st Anniversary to Carl and Martha!

San Antonio symphony
We had the treat of going to the San Antonio Symphony this month. Sir James Galway and his wife Lady Jeanne were the highlight of the program. They are amazingly talented on their golden flutes! At the end of the concert, many local students helped to perform Corigliano’s The Pied Piper (notice Sir Galway in the costume!). He then treated the students to “Danny Boy” – very beautiful.

Valentine dinner
Jaimee and Jennifer enjoyed a special Valentine dinner with Mrs. Patterson and their Sunday school class. God has used her to be a great encouragement and blessing to the girls.

surprise birthday
Earlier in the month, Lynette joined many ladies in a surprise birthday party for her good friend Jan. It was a special and joyous time.

valentine
The girls are a part of the San Antonio calligraphy guild. At their February meeting, they exchanged handmade valentines. This is the one Jaimee made.

The Guild has allowed us to meet some wonderful people who are eager to share their tips and talents with us. We are grateful to be a part of it!

Your Divine Valentine

A Valentine may play a love song for you, but God sings you the sweetest love song in the universe.
The Lord your God…will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. ZEPHANIAH 3:17

A Valentine may give you flowers, but God sent you the most beautiful rose of all, Jesus.
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. SONG OF SOLOMON 2:1

A Valentine may take you out to dinner, but God has invited you to the most amazing feast ever given.
Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb! REVELATION 19:9

A Valentine may bring you chocolate, but God provides you with something even sweeter, His Word.
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! PSALM 119:103

A Valentine may love you for a lifetime, but God loved you before you were born and will love you for all eternity!
Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love… with loving-kindness I have drawn you. JEREMIAH 31:3

Praying you’re blessed by the wonderful love of God this Valentine’s Day and always!

Have a Heart!

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Valentine’s Day will soon be here… Mom adds her special handmade touches to our home each season. Even though we already have many hearts in our home, right now there’s an extra abundance!
In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins. ~1 John 4:10
