Sunday, December 30th, 2007

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ~Isaiah 9:6

Jaimee and Jennifer had a friend come down for a visit recently. It was fun to fellowship with her, watch Wives and Daughters together, go to several concerts, and enjoy the lights downtown. Praise the Lord for the gift of friendship!

Couples Christmas Conference

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

In early December, John and Lynette drove to Dallas for a special couples Christmas conference. Pastor Gary Fraley was the guest speaker and he shared on Multigenerational Families – what legacy do you want your children to carry on? God is about families, multigenerational families. Make God’s Word known to your children for generations to come (Psalm 78:6-7). What will our children and grandchildren say about us? Our goal should be Godly generations.

Thanksgiving pictures

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

Well, we know Thanksgiving has come and gone and that we are a bit behind on posting pictures! We had a lovely Thanksgiving day with John’s side of the family. Everyone pitched in to help make a delicious dinner and yummy desserts. We are thankful for God’s many blessings – for Jesus Christ, for family, for fun times…

I AM THANKFUL FOR:

TTIME For the time God has given us here on earth. Ps 31:14-15: “You are my God. My times are in Your hand.”

HHEALTH For the good health God has given me. 3 John 2: “I pray that you may prosper in all things, and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

AAFFLICTIONS Whereby we show our dependence on God, grow in His grace, and learn patience in the midst of trial. James 1:2-3: “Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”

NNATURE For the beauty of the earth for us to enjoy, and for natural resources which we need to live by. Ps 19:1-6: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.

KKNOWLEDGE God is the source of all knowledge, which is needed to make wise decisions. Proverbs 1:7: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

SSAVIOR I am most thankful that God loved me so much that He gave me a Savior, who died for my sins, so that I would have eternal life and purpose in my life on earth. John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
