Deep in the heart of Texas
Friday, May 18th, 2007Family Reunion, continued!
Sunday, May 13th, 2007This afternoon we were blessed to enjoy a scrumptious Mother’s Day brunch at the Riverwalk Marriott. It was a great conclusion to our time together, and we are grateful God has given us the wonderful gift of family!
A Tribute to our Mothers
May 13, 2007
Without a Mother, you would not be here
Nestled in her womb, what was there to fear?
She brought you forth through discomfort and pain
And into a world, with so much to gain.
She cared, nurtured, taught and gave you much love
A reflection of the Lord God above
Who loved you so much, he sent His only Son
Who gave His life, that we may become one.
Being one in Christ, for those who believe
That he died for you, a gift to receive
Becoming His children, and born again
That you would be forgiven, from all sin.
So God has blessed us with Mothers you see
Love so great, giving life to you and me
Thank you Lord, may I have a grateful heart
Mem-ry of her, may it never depart.

It was fun to join with a few other families in the celebration of David Spradling’s birthday. Here he’s coming in, totally surprised!

John sharing the poem he wrote for David.
David Spradling, man of God
One who works with plants and sod
Reached a milestone, we’ve been told
He is now three score years old.
Couldn’t tell by looking at him
Energetic, youthful and trim
Working outdoors with all that turf
Keeping him fit to hit the surf.
Keep smiling David, let your light shine
Look unto Jesus, redeem the time.
So happy birthday David, my friend
Remember, sixty is not the end!
