a birthday

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Wednesday we celebrated John’s birthday! Despite his very busy schedule and long hours (tax season!), we tried to make the day as special as possible. It all started with cranberry scones for breakfast, opening gifts, and then later…

We love you Dad and are so blessed by your Godly leadership, faithfulness, love, and joy. May the Lord give you many more birthdays! :)

We happily recommend Butterick pattern 4461 to all seamstresses who love skirts! This past week found us busily sewing the “fast and easy” pattern using old material that had been stored in the cabinet all too long. They turned out really cute and it’s fun to have a matching outfit! (we did add about 6 inches to its length… perfect for spring and summer)

oh please… I’m very put out with you. Come back later to take my picture. (if Essie could talk, I’m sure she would have said something like this!!)

Calligraphy Class in Dallas

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

Jennifer and Jaimee were given the amazing opportunity to teach EXCEL girls a class in calligraphy. It made for an exciting day- flying there and back, getting set up, teaching the 3 1/2 hour class, and meeting sweet girls from around the country. It was a privilege to share our love of beautiful writing with the group, and we are so grateful the Lord allowed us to have this experience!

double rainbow
After all the heavy rain, God gave us a beautiful rainbow! The camera didn’t do it justice, but it was lovely!

isn’t it cute??!

can we keep him??
can we keep him?

Well, no we couldn’t keep him. The three of us kids told Mom and Dad that we wanted to be like William Wilberforce and have a pet rabbit in the house. They weren’t too excited about that idea! He was released into the field; at least we saved his little life from the jaws of our beagle. Sadly, his sibling perished the day before due to our hungry dog. :(
