the 5 Lavins go to hear the 5 Browns!
Monday, January 22nd, 2007“One family, five pianos and 50 fingers add up to the biggest classical music sensation in years” -the New York Post.
Saturday evening found us enjoying a brilliant performance by the San Antonio Symphony and The 5 Browns. They are amazing young adults, ranging in age from 20-27, and all attended New York’s Juilliard school together. We enjoyed a Concerto for 3 pianos by Mozart, a Concerto for 2 pianos by Poulenc, Rhapsody in Blue, Simple Gifts/Going Home, Malaguena as a duet, a Rachmaninoff trio on one piano, a solo of Superstar Etude No. 1 by Kernis, and Stravinsky’s The Firebird.

The 5 Browns are exclusive Steinway artists. These are the 5 pianos on which they performed. It was so inspiring to hear and watch them play!
